Putting together a safari to new and untouched African destinations like Uganda or Rwanda can be quite a challenge. We have lived in and explored East Africa for over 30 years now, and over that time we have developed a keen sense of what makes a truly memorable African safari. We were initially attracted to Uganda - and are now proud to call it home - because of its beauty, freshness and vibrant spirit.

When we founded The Far Horizon, we set out to run trips that would give our guests the best of our own encounters with adventure, comfort and safety, combined with Uganda’s sheer physical beauty. This desire has carried through to our operations in Rwanda, Africa’s renaissance destination and one that promises excitement, tranquility and satisfaction in equal measure to future visitors.

Our In-Country Offices

We maintain full-time offices in Uganda and Rwanda with an experienced team of tour planners, guest relation personnel and support personnel. Each one of our staff is a professional, but crucially, each is dedicated and enthusiastic about what they do.

We created these offices to provide you with unmatched in-country service and support, and by our use of the latest equipment and best practice, allows us to run tours of the highest quality at all times.

Professional Guides

We know that our guides play an indispensable part in the success of your trip. Our clients have consistently told us that they consider our guides to be amongst the best they have encountered anywhere in the world.

They will make your trip the treasured experience it should be, attending to your needs and special requirements, and making your safari more fulfilling with their knowledge and reassuring presence. Many of our clients have formed friendships with their guides that last long after they have returned home.

Unique itineraries

We design all our itineraries to offer an unhurried pace. The schedule on every tour is flexible and allows our clients to take advantage of any opportunity to go off the beaten track. Our team on the ground is constantly working with our partners to design and develop ideas and activities that only our clients have access to.

Small Groups

All our group sizes are small, with a maximum size of 6 to 10 participants. This allows your tour guide and your fellow travelers to get to know you on a person-to-person basis, and you will not be merely a part of an anonymous crowd.
