Stephen Cunliffe’s African Odyssey
For eight years, wildlife photographer and photojournalist Stephen Cunliffe (whose work is featured on this site) worked as specialist walking and canoe safari guide in the national parks of South Africa, Zambia and Uganda. This included a stint in Uganda’s remote Kidepo Valley National Park where he pioneered walking safaris in 2006 and 2007.
Passionate about Africa and its wildlife, he loves exploring nature on foot and thrives on sharing his knowledge with other nature enthusiasts. Stephen’s stories and images have been widely published in a diverse range of magazines and newspapers from around the globe. While he is a frequent contributor to prestigious publications such as Africa Geographic, Travel Africa, and the Asian edition of the Wall Street Journal, his work has also featured in a host of other travel, conservation, diving, 4×4 and airline magazines.
On this inaugural Uganda tour, limited to six participants only, Stephen invites you to 
two of his favorite wildlife areas: the Kidepo Valley and Bwindi Forest. This tour, scheduled for September 2012, will give you “insider access” not available to other travellers: a never-before-done fly camp and multi-day walking safari in the Narus Valley, and two amazing encounters with the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi.
Exploring on foot as much as possible, you will share in Stephen’s unique skills as a guide and photographic instructor, in environments as diverse as dry savannah, to steaming tropical jungle.
