Experience Uganda and Rwanda with the East African Safari Specialists

Planning a trip to Africa with a tour operator that you are sure is dependable is never easy, with so many online choices available. When you contact The Far Horizon, you will be assured of attention to detail and personalized service through all stages of your enquiry and booking procedure, right through to the planning and operation of your Uganda or Rwanda tour. Our reputation as a reliable and trusted safari operator in Africa has grown because time and again our clients return home safe in the knowledge that they have enjoyed the very best service, and experienced a true journey of a lifetime.

Both Uganda and Rwanda are incredibly diverse and relatively unvisited safari destinations. They pack a wide variety of habitats, peoples and wildlife species within their boundaries. They are home to the two great apes of Africa – the highly endangered Mountain Gorilla and Chimpanzee. They are also home to 15 other large primate species, 86 large mammal species, over 1000 species of birds (including the enigmatic Shoebill) and hundreds of species of smaller mammals, insects, reptiles and amphibians.

Some of Africa’s most celebrated National Parks, Wildlife Reserves and Forests are found here – In Uganda are Lake Mburo, Mgahinga, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls and Budongo Forest, Kibale Forest, The Rwenzori Mountains, Semiliki, Kidepo and Mt Elgon. In Rwanda are the Volcanoes, Nyungwe and Akagera National Parks. The largest lakes in Africa, including Lake Victoria, Lake Kivu, Lakes Edward and George and Lake Albert, form their borders. There are myriad sources of the Nile here as well, with Rwanda boasting the source furthest away geographically from the Nile Delta in Egypt.

The Far Horizon’s Rwanda and Uganda tours allow you to travel through these magnificent countries on game drives, boat cruises, or foot safaris. Our trips are either camping or lodge based, and you can either do an air safari or get up close and personal with the local people by taking a road journey. Our specialties include Gorilla tracking, Chimpanzee tracking, primate tours, wildlife tours, birding tours, cultural and anthropology tours, herpetology and entomology tours. For those looking for a little bit of adventure, we also offer white water rafting and bungee jumping at the Source of the Nile, ATV safaris, helicopter safaris, and mountain climbing in the Rwenzoris, the Virunga Volcanoes or Mt Elgon.
